The latest work in the series on Frederick Douglass
opens September 3, 2017
at the American Labor Museum.
It opens on the day 179 years ago,
in which Douglass succesfully ran for freedom.
Author Scott Christianson and artist Mark Priest discuss Charles Nalle, a fugitive slave from Virginia who was arrested in Troy in 1860 and freed with the help of Harriet Tubman and an angry crowd. (Paul Grondahl / Times Union)
